The Ridge at Manitou Owner and Founder, Udo Petersen, was born in Germany, where he worked as a shipbuilder before coming to Canada in 1967. While visiting Canada on their honeymoon, Udo and his wife so loved the country that they never left.A self-made success, Udo is a talented inventor who holds numerous patents within the automobile industry. Along the way, he founded Bend All which became the leading supplier of fluid handling and structural automotive components, specializing in tube and metal forming.A long-term cottager on Manitouwabing Lake, Udo enjoys golf as much for the walk in nature as the game itself. “I was recently on the course and saw two young foxes on a fairway,” he says. “They just looked back at me, without fear. It was an unforgettable moment.”

	The Ridge at Manitou Co-Founder, Brian Brisbin, is a founding partner with the Toronto architectural firm Brisbin Brook Beynon. A graduate of the University of Waterloo, he attended, on scholarship, the International Institute of Design in London, England. In private practice since 1985, he has designed numerous urban design and mixed-use developments being built in Canada, the United States and abroad.Brian embraces the philosophy that architecture in not simply about building; it is the creation of spaces and environments that define experience.An avid golfer, Brian has enjoyed the retreat of his summer home on Manitouwabing Lake for 15 years.
