Live entertainment provided by Mollie Moloney!
Mollie Moloney is a twenty-three year old Singer/songwriter from the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay in Parry Sound, Ontario. Growing up Mollie had a strong inclination and passion for music and has been classically trained in Voice and Piano. Her early roots in music lead her down a road inspired by classical operas, oratorios, and art songs composed by leading artists Mozart, Schubert, Bach, and Puccini. She muses in the contemporary works and sounds of Carole King, Joan Baez, Cat Stevens, Aretha Franklin, Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick, The Beatles, Janice Joplin, and in film music Rogers and Hammerstein, John Barry, James Horner, and Patrick Doyle just to mention a few.
Mollie has always held a deep appreciation and fascination for music, especially singing. She began studying her instruments Voice and Piano at the age of six and performed through her youth in churches, festivals, competitions, community events, galas, operas, and solo concerts. Her earliest singing idols were Jeanette Macdonald and Eddy Nelson, Julie Andrews, Judy Garland, and Sarah Brightman. Mollie has a true keenness and love of performing and enjoys the gift of sharing her lyrical sound and music with others. Recently Mollie was awarded her ARCT Diploma in Voice Performance with Honours from The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She aspires to perform her ARCT in Piano Performance in the upcoming year. Mollie has studied Voice, Piano, and Theory with Maia Vimboule of The Parry Sound School of Music and Voice and Theory with Albert Greer and Blair Bailey of Orillia.
When Mollie began her later journey into song writing she reflected that something distinctly and musically changed in her. Writing makes her feel whole and completely natural. The creative space allows her a freedom and a special sound. What Mollie finds most enjoyable about writing music is how she’s been able to interweave a classical influence into a contemporary fabric of sounds. Mollie cares for her listeners and tries to create a connection between her experiences and their own. She calmly threads her warm tone and her rooted foundation of music into simple stories and passions in a unique and special way.
Mollie is currently recording her first album entitled “A Winter’s Psalm” inspired by a winter of change and a glorious new beginning, a fresh start.
